城 市 设 计U R B A N D E S I G N2022|4|No.042主编的话本期专题为“空间句法（Space Syntax）”。空间句法理论与方法经由40多年的发展，已经成为城市形态领域的重要学派之一；它揭示空间复杂网络的内在关联机制对于空间形态生成及其社会逻辑的关键性影响。其创始人比尔希利尔教授（Bill Hillier）于2016年获得英国城市设计终身成就奖，但不幸于2019年逝世。为了纪念希利尔教授的杰出贡献，2022年第13届国际空间句法大会的第一场主旨演讲题为向比尔希利尔致敬，由玛格丽特格林教授（Margarita Greene）主持，杨滔博士、维尼修斯纳拓教授（Vinicius M.Netto）、露丝道尔顿教授（Ruth Conroy Dalton）、索菲亚帕拉教授（Sophia Psarra）、弗雷德里科奥兰达教授（Frederico de Holanda）以及格林教授先后围绕希列尔教授学术思想进行了发言。这作为本期的第一篇特邀文章，从多维角度阐述了空间句法的核心理念及知识体系。本期还有幸刊登第12届国际空间句法大会的主旨报告结构或：空间句法是否需要从根本上扩展其空间组构理论？，这是希利尔教授最后一篇文章，他与杨滔一起探索了空间句法的理论展望。本期也展示了空间句法最近的前沿研究。道尔顿教授等在网格中的等视域中探讨了空间认知的最近理论性方法。帕拉教授阐明了空间句法将如何从分析性理论走向设计性理论以及语言本身在其中的重要作用。最后，基蒙克伦茨（Kimon Krenz）博士对空间句法过去、现在、未来的发展进行了相关探讨，呼吁空间句法拥抱人工智能，关注紧迫的社会与环境问题。EDITORS NOTEThe theme of this issue is“Space Syntax”.The theory and method of space syntax has become one of the key schools in the field of urban morphology,after more than 40 years of development.It reveals the important impact of the intrinsic correlation mechanism of complex space networks on the formation of spatial morphology and its social logics.Its founder,Professor Bill Hillier,received the Urban Design Group Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016,but sadly passed away in 2019.In honor of Professor Hilliers outstanding contributions,the first keynote speech of the 13th International Symposium of Space Syntax in 2022 was enti-tled“A Tribute to Bill Hillier”,chaired by Professor Margarita Greene.Dr.Tao Yang,Professor Vinicius M.Netto,Professor Ruth Conroy Dalton,Professor Sophia Psarra,Professor Frederico de Holanda and Professor Green separately gave a speech on Professor Hilliers academic thoughts.This,as the first guest article in this issue,demonstrates the core concepts and knowledge system of space syntax from a multidimensional perspective.This issue also has the honour to publish the keynote speech,“Structure or:Does Space Syntax Need to Radically Expand Its Theory of Space Composition?”,of the 12th International Symposium of Space Syntax.This is the last article by Hillier,who together with Yang,explored the theoretical outlook of space syn-tax.This issue also showcases recent cutting-edge researches on space syntax.Professor Dalton and her colleagues discussed recent theoretical methods of spatial cognition in“Isovist in a Grid”;Professor Psarra proposed how space syntax would move from analytical theory to design theory,and addressing the vital role of language itself.Finally,Dr.Kimon Krenz discussed the past,present and future development of space syntax,calling on spatial syntax to embrace ar-tificial intelligence and pay attention to urgent social and environmental issues.ZHANG YueEditor-in-Chief of Urban DesignAugust 18,2022,Tsinghua University主编：张悦本期专题主持：杨滔2022年8月18日于清华园DOI:10.16513/j.urbandesign.2022.04.001
