The Tragedy of Hamlet
After his return to his homeland, he prayed to God to give him wisdom and strength, to bless him to kill the evil Claudius, and revenge his father's death.
When Hamlet was preparing for his final revenge, Claudius was planning a conspiracy as well. The plan would be to kill Hamlet and would not cause the people's suspicion. He told Laertes, "You and Hamlet will compete with swords. Hamlet will not inspect the swords to be used in the competition. I would put one sharp sword among them. You can take that sword when the people do not notice, and kill Hamlet. Then you will have avenged your father's death." Laertes said angrily, "I will put poison on the sword. Once Hamlet is touched even slightly by the poison, no medicine will save his life." To make the plan perfect, Claudius said again, "You must use all your energy during the competition. If you can not kill him, let him be exhausted. Then Hamlet will be thirsty, and I will prepare a cup of wine with poison. This will also achieve our purpose."
When the two were planning their conspiracy, the queen brought a bad news. Ophelia had fallen into a river, drowned and was dead. At first, Laertes had compassion toward Hamlet because they were all sorrowful as his fathers' death. But now the death of his sister took away any hesitation. He made up his mind that no matter what he would take action and kill Hamlet.
