I.Teaching Aims and Demands

II.Teaching Key Points
1. Key vocabulary

2. Targe language
What are you going to be when you grow up?
I’m going to be a computer programmer.
How are you going to do that?
I’m going to study computer science.

VI. Teaching Procedures
Step I. Greet the class.
I’m a teacher. What does your father /mother do?
(Students answer and the teacher and write the words on the blackboard. Read them.)
Step II . Lead-in
1. Show some pictures on the screen and ask “What does he/she do?” Students answer. Revise “basketball player,tennis player,actor,actress, teacher, reporter, policeman and musician.”
2. Teach these words : programmer, engineer, pilot, pianist by showing pictures on the screen.
3. Then show some more pictures on the screen and ask”Do you know their jobs? Can you say out the names of their jobs?” Get the students to say out the names of their jobs.
4. Give an easy way to remember the jobs.
Step III. 1a
1.Show words on the screen
computer programmer basketball player pilot
engineer teacher actor cook scientist
pianist violinist bus driver doctor
2.Read each word to the class.
3.Ask the students to point to the jobs that appear in the picture.
4.Ask students what job is the most interesting and do the activity 1a.
5.Let some students to answer the questions.
Step VI. 1b
1. Ask what they are doing.Teach four actions on the screen :study computer science,take acting lessons,study really hard,practice basketball.
2. Point to 1b on P41 and get the students to listen to the tape . Play the tape and ask students to draw lines connecting the jobs and the activities.
3.Check the answers.
Step V. 1c Pairwork
1.Point out the example in the box . Ask two students to read it to the class.
Now work with a partner. First read the conversation in the box with your partner. 2.Then look at the other jobs on the screen and have conversations about these jobs.
3.Ask some pairs of students to say their conversations to the class.
Step VI . Survey:which job is the most popular in your group?
1. Ask students to do a survey in their group. Ask “ what are you going to be when you grow up? How are you going to do that? Where are you going to work?
2. Ask them to fill in the form on the screen. Then found out which job is the most popular in your group.
3. Ask some pairs to report their result.
Step VII. Talk show
1.This is the Talk Show time in ATV ! In each group, one student is the host(主持人), others are the guests(嘉宾). You are talking about :
What are you going to be when you grow up?
Why are you going to be a/an…?
Where are you going to work?
How are you going to do that?
2. Our class is going to have a Christmas party! Talk in groups about“ What are you going to do for the party?”
3. Ask some groups to act in front of the class.
Step VIII. Summary
Today we talk about the future intention.What are you going to be when you grow up? I’m going to be a computer programmer. A good plan is a good start. You know what you are going to do and you plan for that. This is good start to a success.
Step IX . Consolidation
Do some exercises on the screen.
Ex.1 complete the sentences.
Exx2. Translate some sentences.
Step X. Homework
Making a plan of what are you going to be when you grow up? And how are you going to do that? Prepare to report to the class.
