Module 4 Unit 2 Amy is going to be 11. 第一课时
Teaching contents:
The first period of unit 2.
Teaching objectives:
1. Read the invitation of the party correctly and fluently.
2. To make a new invitation according to the example and try to say it in groups.
3. To make practical practice with the base sentences of the invitation.
Main and difficult points:
1. Read and understand the three main points of the invitation : place, date and time.
2. To make a new invitation according to the example and try to say it correctly.
3. To pronounce the new word “reply” correctly.
Teaching preparation:
CD-ROM, teaching cards of the 12 months, a big
calendar of October in 2006, four pieces of report paper.
Teaching procedure:
Step 1: Warming up
1. Free talk:
What day is it today?
What’s the date of today? (T can write the date on the board)
What are you going to do this weekend?
2. Review the words of the 12 months.
3. Review the expressions of the date in a month.
Step 2: Presentation and Practice
1. Presentation of the date in this invitation.
(T show a big card with three dates on it. 1st of October, 2nd of October, 3rd of October) ask a student to listen and circle the correct answer: 2nd of October.
T: On 2nd of October, do you know what is Amy
Going to do? Well, let’s say this invitation.
2. Learn the first three sentences of the invitation.
(1) Watch the video with the first question: How old is Amy going to be?
(2) Answer the question, and then try to repeat the first three sentences correctly.
3. Learn the other base sentences of this invitation.
(1) Watch the video with the second question: Where is the birthday party? Answer and try to repeat this sentence correctly.
At: 15 Apple Road, London. (T writes it on the board)
T explain the written form of the address in English briefly.
(2) Watch the video with the third question: What’s the date of the party? Repeat the sentence the same way.
(3) Watch the video with the fourth question: When will the party begin? And when will it end?
Learn the next sentences the same way.
(4) Watch the video and learn the last sentence.
T show the word card and stress the correct pronunciation of the word “ reply” then practice for several times.
Step 3: Practice
1. Watch the video completely and read the invitation fluently.
2. Ask some Ss act the invitation before class.
3. Practice the short dialog of activity 2 in pairs.
Step 4: Consolidation
1. Lead Ss review the main contents of a invitation to a birthday party: place, date, time.
2. Teach the Ss to make a new invitation according to the example in small groups.
T offer some phrases of the exact address on the board, and then offer four pieces of report paper, help the students in time.
3. Act out the new invitation of every group, have Ss read and understand together.
Step 5: Summary
Have the students recall the words and expressions they have learned in this class. And tell them that they can use the sentences to make a wonderful invitation to the birthday party.
Step 6: Homework
1. Listen to the tape and read the text.
2. Write a new invitation and decorate it.

1)复习本模块的重点词语lunch, birthday, sing and dance, Sunday, Saturday
2)进一步巩固本模块所学词语 reply, tidy up, road , together, invitation的正确发音,掌握其词义,
3.复习主要语言结构:
What are we going to do? We’re going to have lunch together.
We’re going to sing and dance.
Are you going to have a birthday cake? Yes, I am.
Amy is going to be 11.
二、教学目标
1.结合前面所学的相关词语做话题词语的归纳。
2.进一步明确本模块所学语言的功能,开展听、说、读、写的综合练习,培养学生观察、归纳、总结语言特点的能力。
3.开展真实的语言交流活动,鼓励学生朗读或表演课文。
三、教学重、难点
1.运用所学句型 “be going to”讲述计划和即将发生的事情,进行扩展性的情景会话。
2.不同主语后的be going to句型。
四、教学用具
录音机、录音带、单词卡片、挂图等。
五、教学过程
1. Greeting
2.热身复习
1)师生进行Free talk。用“What’s the date?”“What day is today?”进行问答。
2)背诵Sunday---Saturday,唱课本第17页歌曲《You Know Up To June》,以此复习星期和月份的说法。
3.新课活动
1)让学生拿出预先准备好的卡片,当老师读出一个单词时,同学们必须快速地举起老师所读的单词,并把它读出来。纠正读音。
2)听录音,朗读课文,鼓励个别学生背诵或表演课文。
3)教师出示一张关于自己计划的表格。

学生用What are you going to do on______?问,教师用I’m going to_____at_____.进行回答。学生模仿制定自己计划,列出表格,同位间进行问答采访。并用___is going to___on_____at_____.向老师和同学汇报调查结果。
4)每位学生准备四张纸片,分别写上人物、活动、地点、时间,以组为单位用上相应的be going to进行重新组合句子的活动。
4.巩固练习
做学生活动用书,进行听说读写的综合练习。
5.布置作业
模仿课本第16页为本班一位即将过生日的同学写生日邀请卡。
