3. 能听懂、会说、会读句型和日常用语:We use water/ plastic/ wood/ …to…。
4. 能听懂、会说字母oo在单词中的读音,要求发音准确。
5. 通过本单元的学习,让学生能够简单的环保知识,并能用英语进行描述。

Step1. Greeting and lead-in
1.Greeting
2. Sing a song< Two little blackbirds>
Question: Why do the little blackbirds fly away?
引导学生用Unit6 所学知识回答:Because the air is dirty.
Because there aren’t any trees on the hill. They have no home.
T: Now our living environment is polluted, so we should protect the Earth.出示课题并教读。We should make the Earth a better place for you and me, and the entire human race.
Step 2. Pre-reading
1.出示无污染的地球图片。
T:Look, the Earth is a beautiful place. There are many kinds of sources in it. Do you know some of them? ( water, trees, air etc.)
2.Guessing game
T: Here are the other sources. Let’s guess what they are.
①It’s black and hard. We can find it under the ground. It can make us warm. There’s a lot of it in Shanxi.
②It’s a black liquid. We can find it under the ground. Cars need it.
③It’s usually white and thin. We can write and draw on it.
④It comes from trees. We use it to make tables, desks, chairs, beds and many other things.
⑤ It’s light and soft. It’s widespread in our life.
3. T: They are useful things for us, how do we use them?
For example: We use coal and oil to make energy.
引导学生说出 water,wood,paper,plastic等资源的用法。
呈现一幅被污染的地球图片。
T: Look at this picture. Is it still beautiful? Now, there is a lot of pollution. We should protect the Earth at once. What can we do?
1. Watch the cartoon and find the four key points of the text.
2. Listen to the tape and answer the questions.
① What do you think of water? (useful)
② What do we use water to do? (drink, clean things)
③ Is there a lot of water everywhere?(no)
④ What shouldn’t we do?(waste)
⑤ What should we do? (reuse, save)
3. Read the second part and judge.
① Most of our energy comes from coal and oil. (T)
② There is a lot of coal and oil on Earth. (F)
③ We should drive cars every day. (F)
④ Cars use lots of energy. (T)
4.呈现光头强砍树的画面。
T: What is he doing? S1: He is cutting down trees. 教学 cut down
T: Is he right? We should stop him right now. Why?
引导学生说出 Trees help keep the air clean.
5. 塑料瓶、塑料袋实物展示。
T: we use plastic to make bags and bottles. We often use them in our daily life. Do you often use them? Look at this picture. What do you think of it? 引出句子: Too much plastic is bad for the Earth.
T: What should we do? 学生自读课文,并在文中划出关键词句。
Step 4. Post-reading
1. Read the whole passage loudly and finish the exercise “think and write” on page70, and then check the answers.
2. Retell the text according to the blackboard design.
3. Introduce the slogan ‘Save the world, save our lives.’ to the Ss.
Step 5. Homework
1. Read and retell the passage.
2. Finish the exercise “True or False” on page70.
3. Collect and make good use of waste materials.

E.g. We use water to wash clothes.

Step 2. Grammar time
1. Brain-storm
Give the students some key words, 板书 water, trees, plastic, coal, oil, ask the students to make up sentences with ‘ use...to...’
2. Play a game: choose the words you want to make sentences.
(1) they, we, he , she, you, Mike, Helen
(2) chopsticks, paper, crayon, pen, computer, cup
(3) draw, write, make flowers, play games, drink, eat, clean tables, wash clothes
E.g. He uses paper to make flowers.
