凡人纪念馆MEMORIAL OF EVERYMAN设计：WutopiaLab地点：上海市崇明区Design:Wutopia Lab Location:Chongming District,Shanghai特辑:工业遗存，价值重塑Feature:ReshapingtheValueofIndustrialHeritage170凡人纪念馆照亮黄昏的夜空 Memorial of Everyman,lighting the sky at dusk1712022.9 建筑实践ArchitecturalPracticeWutopiaLab 把光明食品（集团）下属东滩源（前哨农场原 12 连）的一座废弃水塔改建成了献给所有在绝望时刻做出英雄行为的普通人的凡人纪念馆。在讨论项目背景时，一篇资料引起了设计师的注意。20 世纪 5060 年代，为了生产更多的粮食，崇明岛上兴起了轰轰烈烈的开沙围垦工程。潮水汹涌，一位名叫陆静娟的女工看到堤坝已经出现了管涌，为了避免因溃坝而导致围海工程失败，她挺身跳入漏洞堵住缺口。百余位民工见状也受到鼓舞，相继跳入水中。潮流平稳了下来，泥块倾倒下去，堤坝终告合拢。在改造之初,业主曾希望将这座塔改造成咖啡厅或酒店套房。但设计师被陆静娟的英雄精神所深深感动，她在绝望中奋力一击，获得了希望。设计师带着对生命的新思考重新审视了这个项目，说服了业主将水塔改建成凡人纪念馆。这不仅用来纪念陆静娟的英雄精神，更承载了上海这座城市的历史、文化与记忆。这座水塔原本是为围垦工人提供安全饮用水而建，是围垦工人宿舍区的中心标志。设计师保留了水塔的原有外墙，将水塔视为堤坝的溃孔，设计了一座独立结构的螺旋楼梯，以此形成塔中塔的结构，象征着那些英雄的普通人以身堵漏地插在水塔的空腔中的伟大精神，使废弃的水塔延续生命。设计师用金色象征这些普通人的高光时刻。象征一个世纪的 100 级楼梯由 84 根直径 50cm 的金属杆作为束筒结构形成 1 座独立金塔矗立在水塔内部。金塔底部是上海地图，每个台阶上都印有相应的年份。金属杆上记录着大事记。水塔的储水仓墙壁上是当年围垦场景的照片转印的壁画，表达了对凡人英雄的崇高致意。通过照明设计，当年为普通人提供水源的水塔变成了当下纪念普通人的光塔。放眼望去，远处的地平线连绵不断，仿佛无数人站在水中，那就是“大海停止之处”。业主上海乾艺农业发展有限公司主持建筑师俞挺项目建筑师穆芝霖设计团队潘大力、徐楠、米柯洁、李子恒结构顾问缪滨海照明设计张宸露施工单位上海弘力幕墙工程有限公司施工图设计上海筑盟建筑设计有限公司建筑面积25 m2项目周期2020.42021.10摄影清筑影像水塔改造前 The water tower before renovation项目鸟瞰 Aerial view of the project172特辑：工业遗存，价值重塑Feature:ReshapingtheValueofIndustrialHeritage入口空间的楼梯 View of the staircase at the entrance space水塔改造后 The water tower after renovation登顶远眺地平线 View from the top towards the distant horizon一层平面图 First floor plan二层平面图 Second floor planN00.52.5m11732022.9 建筑实践ArchitecturalPracticeWutopia Lab transformed an abandoned water tower at Dongtanyuan(the former 12th Company of Qianshao Farm),a subsidiary of Bright Food(Group),into the Memorial of Everyman,a memorial to all the ordinary people who performed heroic acts in desperate times.While discussing the background of the project,a touching anecdote about plugging leaks with ones body caught the designers attention.During 1950s 1960s,Chongming Island underwent a vigorous pol-der project in order to produce more food.During a huge tide,a female worker named LU Jingjuan saw a pipe surge in the dike,which could lead to a dam failure and thus make the whole polder project fail.So she jumped into the hole to plug it.Her heroic move encouraged hundreds of other workers to jump into the water.The tide stabilized,and the dam was finally safe.At the beginning of the renovation,the client had hoped to transform the water tower into a cafe or hotel suite.However,Wutopia Lab were particular-ly moved by the heroic spirit of LU Jingjuan who fought in the midst of despair to gain hope for the future.The designers reexamined the project with new thinking about life,and convinced the client to turn the water tower into a memorial to all the ordi-nary people.It not only commemorates the heroic spirit of LU Jingjuan,but also carries the history,culture and memory of Shanghai.Originally built to provide safe drinking water for workers,this water tower is the central symbol of the polder workers dormitory area.The designers kept the original exterior wall and saw the water tower as the breach hole of the dike.They designed a spiral staircase with a separate structure to sym-bolize those heroic ordinary people who plugged the leak with their bodies in the cavity of the water tower,which is a tower within another tower.The designers used the gold color to symbolize the great gesture of these ordinary people.The 100-step staircase,symbolizing a centenary,is made of 84 metal rods with a diameter of 50 cm that form a separate golden tower inside the water tower.At the bottom of the golden tower is a map of Shanghai,with each year on one step,a chronicle of events recorded on the metal rods,and on the walls of the water storage bin of the water tower is a mural of photo transfers of the polder scene back then,expressing the noble tribute to heroes.Through lighting design,the water tower that provided water for ordinary people back then becomes a light tower that honors ordinary people in the present.Looking in the distance,the horizon is continuous,as if countless people are standing in the water,where the sea stops.CLIENT Shanghai Qianyi Agricultural Development Co.,Ltd.CHIEF ARCHITECTYU TingPROJECT ARCHITECTMU ZhilinDESIGN TEAMPAN Dali,XU Nan,MI Kejie,LI ZihengSTRUCTURE CONSULTANT MIAO BinhaiLIGHTING DESIGN ZHANG ChenluCONSTRUCTION COMPANYShanghai Hongli Curtain Wall Engineering Co.,Ltd.CONSTRUCTION DRAWING DESIGNShanghai Zhumeng Architectural Design Co.,Ltd.GROSS FLOOR AREA25 m2PROJECT PERIOD2020.42021.10PHOTOGRAPHYCreatAR Images西立面图 West elevation剖面图 Section015m2174特辑：工业遗存，价值重塑Feature:ReshapingtheValueofIndustrialHeritage象征百年历史的楼梯踏步 100 stairs resembling a centenaryQianshaowan in Chongming has introduced art group exhibition,homestay and other service functions,trying to promote modernism in the countryside.But you have raised your concern on the disappearance of history should the water tower be transformed into a coffee bar.In combination with the design concept of Trilogy of Everyman series of projects,would you pleas
