riskanalysis for covering also worst cases ase.g.Kuala Lumpur towers:height=453m,more than 200thunderstorm days per yearcorresponding to Ng=30(old formula)Adapt parameters if needed.Noted.DE 3GeneralEExample:Table B.6 should have a column forno shield with values 1(similar as intable B.7),instead of text Forunshielded line PLD=1 shall be taken.Parameter values should be given as faras possible in the tables, not in NOTESor in the text.Agreed.DK1GeneralGeneralEThe terms“lightning flash”and“flash arenot consistent with the 81/212/CD(part 4of this standard)Exchange“lightning flash”with“lightningstrike”throughout, and also exchange“flash”with“lighting strike”throughout.Terms are consistent with 81/216/CDV.81/212/CD will be modified accordingly.DK2GeneralGeneralEThe draft would benefit from beingworked over by a native Englishspeaking person. Also much greatercare should be taken with regards todefining symbols and explaining theformulae and calculations.Particularly it should be realised thatalthough the examples in the appendicesare correct and relevant, they will be oflittle use if not great care is taken to givedetailed explanations and conclusions,so that each example may be read andunderstood by itself. If this is not takenseriously most likely no readers but theones deeply involved in developing thestandard will be able to follow, understand and benefit from theexamples.Noted.3 81/222/CCNationalCommitteeClause/SubclauseParagraph Figure/TableType ofcomment(General/Technical/Editorial)COMMENTSProposed changeOBSERVATIONS OF THE SECRETARIATon each comment submittedES 1GeneralMany factors are considered here for therisk assessment, but not an importantone:the altitude.Statistics show thatthere are differences in lightningparameters. At high mountains, lightningprotection components should bedimensioned for withstanding highenergy lightning strikes. However,at sealevel the LPS design should take intoaccount that lightning strikes have lowerenergy but they are more difficult tointercept, hence air termination systempositioning should be more strict.Theprotection measures could be moreefficient if this fact is taken into account. The altitude should be studied as aparameter for risk assessment, giving afactor for choosing lightning parameters, dimensions and positioning not onlyconsidering the number of events butalso their characteristics.Noted.ES 2GeneralThe standard should not be circulatedwithout the acompanying sofware, sinceit is very complicated to apply.Software is an Annex to IEC 62305-2.It is hopeful that IEC 62305-2 willcirculate, since the first round,as acomplete document with all its Annexes, but,if the Annex relevant to the sofwarewill not be prepared on time, the maindocument will circulate and the Annexwill be attached to it once ready.FR1GeneralThe document has been largelyimproved in terms of simplification.Butit is necessary to go further in thesimplification. For example,to sendback in annexes the complex part is notsufficient. The Annexes should also besimplified.Use the editorial proposal below tosimplify reading.Improved examples to give a chance tothe reader to understand the documentby checking by himself how it worksAdd as soon as possible and in anycase before the CDV the software, which has been agreed to include.Work out some examples accordinglyto the software on order to show a)thecapability of the software and b)itslimits it is,as a matter of fact, limitedto simple case and is d
