THESECRETARIATon each comment submittedDE 1GeneralTBecause IEC 62305-4 is not a standalone standard(as IEC 61312 series),itis necessary to consider IEC 62305-4together with the other parts of IEC62305.Therefore the DE comments refer alsoto these other parts if necessary.Fundamentally it has to be stated,thatthere are two different completeprotection systems for structures:a)62305-3 describes a system called“LPS”to protect against PHYSICAL DAMAGE TOSTRUCTURES AND LIFE HAZARD offeringa bundle of defined protection measuresb)62305-4 describes a system called“LPM system”to protect Electrical andelectronic systems within structures.Offering several protection measuresshall be combined to a complete tailoredLPM system.This philosophy has to be describedclearly in 62305-1 and shall befollowed consequently in the otherparts.Agreed.IEC 62305-1 follows yet thisphilosophy.DE 2GeneralTIntroduce LPM system in IEC 62305-1:e.g.give clear guidance in clause 7.3:Possible protection
