81/249/INF For IEC use only 2004-08-13 INTERNATIONAL ELECTROTECHNICAL COMMISSION TECHNICAL COMMITTEE No.81:LIGHTNING PROTECTION Report of convenor of IEC TC 81/WG 8 Agenda item 7 1)As decided at the meeting of TC 81 held in Florence,task of the WG8 is to prepare CDs relevant to projects IEC 62305-1 and IEC 62305-3.2)A CDV of IEC 62305-3 has been prepared taking into account the comments received on the first CD and the results of discussion held at the last TC81 meeting in Palma.3)The task force leaded by Mr.E.Pols,established with the goal to prepare Annex F in the draft IEC 62305 3,could complete the text of the new Annex F,which was included in the new CDV.4)The task force leaded by Mr.M.Guthrie,established with the goal to prepare Annex E in the draft IEC 62305 3,could complete the text of the new Annex E,which was included in the CDV.5)The draft 81/240/CDV,relevant to IEC 62305-3,has been circulated by the National Committees and the deadline for comments was the June 2004.6)CC on 81/240/CDV has been circulated immediately among the Members of WG8 and comments were considered and discussed at the WG8 meeting held in Rome on 15 and 16 July 2004 7)On the base of the results of this discussion,it was agreed.to prepare by the Convener a new FDIS version of IEC 62305-3.This new draft document has been circulated in August,2004 among the WG8 members and Editing Committee members in order to check the correct inclusion of the comments.A final FDIS document will be ready for discussion at the next TC 81 meeting in Seoul;8)During the last WG8 meeting in Rome comments on documents 81/239/DC and 81/216/CDV were also considered and discussed.New FDIS version of document IEC 62305-1,with inclusion of the new Annex E,has been prepared with special aim to be congruent with the other FDISs in preparation.The new draft has been circulated in August,2004 among the WG8 members and Editing Committee members in order to check the correct inclusion of the comments.A final FDIS document will be ready for discussion at the next TC 81 meeting in Seoul;_
