ABSTRACTABSTRACTWith in-depth study of intelligent transportation systems,unmanned intelligentvehicle research has also received increasing attention.In this paper,the fifthFreescaleNational University Student Smart car race as the context.In this paper,hardware of every component is discussed and the whole hardware system isresearched and designed.In the end,worked together the software students andfinished a automatically follows fast moving smart car on a specially designedrunway.This paper designs a systems hardware uses MC9S12XS128 as control core,contains a power supply,image acquisition,motor drive,keypad and display,wirelesscommunication and remote parking modules;using Protel DXP as a developmentenvironment designs the circuits,completes the jointing,and then compiles testingprograms to verify the circuit,ensure the system is correct and reliable.This paper discusses the car models of the mechanical structure of the overallperformance of the car and in order to let the car run faster,some of the car modelsare adjusted.Through the comparison of multiple cameras,the final choice the lownoise degree and analog CCD camera as the systems image sensor.To facilitatedebugging car,adding wireless,serial and remote control module.In order to bettercontrol the speed,use the optical encoder to achieve the speed of the closed-loopcontrol.The experiments show that the smart cars mechanical structure is appropriate,the circuit hardware is stable and reliable.The smart car can run following the routefast at an average speed of more than 1.5m/s.Key words:Intelligent Vehicle system,mechanical structure,hardware system,MC9S12XS128,CCD analog camera
