81/225/INFForIECuseonly2003-07-25INTERNATIONALELECTROTECHNICALCOMMISSIONTECHNICALCOMMITTEENo.81:LIGHTNINGPROTECTIONTC81/WG8–Convenor’sreport(tobediscussedunderdraftagendaitem7attheforthcomingTC81meetingtobeheldinPalmadeMallorca29thand30thSeptember2003)AsdecidedatthemeetingofTC81heldinFlorence,taskoftheWG8istoprepareCDsrelevanttoprojectsIEC62305-1andIEC62305-3.AnewCDofIEC62305-3hasbeenpreparedtakingintoaccountthecommentsreceivedonthefirstCDandtheresultsofdiscussionheldatthelastTC81meetinginBeijing.ThetaskforceleadedbyMr.EdPols,establishedwiththegoaltoprepareAnnexFinthedraftIEC62305–3,couldcompletethetextofthenewAnnexF,whichwasincludedinthenewCD;figuresofAnnexF,notyetready,werenoattached.Newdraft81/214/CD,relevanttoIEC62305-3,havebeencirculatedbytheNationalCommitteesandthedeadlineforcommentswasthe20thJune2003.CCon81/214/CDhasbeencirculatedimmediatelyamongtheMembersofWG8andcommentswereconsideredanddiscussedattheWG8meetingheldinRomeon15and16July2003.Inthesamemeeting:•figuresofAnnexFwerepresentedanddiscussed;•additionalmaterialpresentedascommenttoAnnexEbyGermanywasdiscussed.OnthebaseoftheresultsofthisdiscussionandafterconsultationwithIECCO,thefollowinglineofactionwillbeimplemented:•topreparebytheSecretaryanewAnnexFandrelevantFiguresincludedtobecirculatedasDCdocument,askingNTCforcomments(deadline15thSeptember2003);•topreparebytheSecretaryanewAnnexErelevanttostructureswithriskofexplosiontobecirculatedasDCdocument,askingNTCforcomments(deadline15thSeptember2003);•toconsidercommentsreceivedtobothdocumentsbeforetheTC81meetinginPalma.AcompletedocumentforCDVstagecouldbepreparedaccordingtotheestablishedTC81workprogramme.NewversionofdocumentIEC62305-1hasbeenpreparedwithspecialaimtobecongruentwiththeotherCDsinpreparation,andhasbeencirculatedbyMay9,2003asCDV(81/216/CDV)–closingdateforvotingbyOctober10,2003,accordingtothedecisionofTC81Beijingmeeting.____________________
