in writing from IEC.This standard has been drafted to provide a basis for the performance of frequency response measurements on power transformers both as a benchmark and subsequently to detect damage.The document has been revised following comments received on the CD.Particular revisions are:Incorporation of different measurement lead arrangement methods if they are required for compatibility or measurement efficiency(annex A).Revisions to the requirements for instruments Revisions to diagrams Completion of the annexes Comments are particularly sought on the following points:Whether particular measuring impedances in addition to the proposed 50 ohms should be allowed in the standard.Changing this impedance to accommodate a wider range of measurement techniques would mean that incompatible results could be obtained from different instruments.Whether measuring techniques that do not provide information at frequencies below 5kHz should be excluded by the standard.Generally measurements between 10Hz and 5kHz are used to detect abnormalities in the core and turn to turn failure.It is recognised that it is difficult for measurements based on the impulse technique to provide accurate information in this low frequency range,but it is believed that the majority of instruments and measurements in use can comply with the standard as written in the
