ExperimentalevaluationofthepluggingeffectofpermanentlyabandonedwellsZHONGShou-ming1,DENGKuan-hai2,WUYan-xian1,ZHANGHao1,ZHAOQian2,LINYuan-hua2(1EngineeringTechnologyResearchInstitute,XinjiangOilfieldCompany,Karamay834099,Xinjiang,China;2StateKeyLaboratoryofOilandGasReservoirGeologyandDevelopmentEngineering,SouthwestPetroleumUniversity,Chengdu610500,China)Abstract:Withthecontinuousdevelopmentofoilandgasresources,thereareincreasingabandonedoilandgaswellswithnocommercialexploitationvalue.Thepluggingeffectofabandonedwellsisthekeytopermanentlymaintainingtheintegrityofthewellbore.Therefore,basedonthecharacteristicsofpermanentlyabandonedwellsandpluggingtechnicalspecificationsandrequirements,amethodfortestingandevaluatingthepluggingeffectofpluggingbarrierunitsinpermanentlyabandonedwellsisproposed.WeindependentlydevelopedatestsystemtoevaluatetheeffectivenessandfeasibilityofthecementpluginsidethecasingandthecementsheathoutsidethecasingandsimulatedthedownholeworkingconditionsoftypicalwellsinNorthwestChina.Thesealingperformancetestandinterfacemechanicalperformancetestofthecementplugintheabandonedwellsandthecementsheathoutsidethepipeswerecarriedout.Thetestresultsofmaximumpluggingpressureandbreakdownpressureofcementplugandcementsheathunderfoureffectivebondinglengthsandthemechanicalparametersoftheinterfacewithcasingwereobtained.Theinfluenceofthecementplug/thelengthofcementsheathonitssealingperformance,andthefunctionalrelationshipbetweenthecementplug/thelengthofcementsheathandthepluggingpressureareobtainedbyfitting.Theintegrityfailuremechanismunderhydraulicimpactandtheweakareaofthesealingbarrierisclarified.Thesealingperformanceandinterfacemechanicalpropertiesofcementplugandcementsheatharecompared.Theprocessparametersthattheplugginglengthofcementpluginthepipeismorethan22.99mandtheplugginglengthofcementsheathoutsidethepipeismorethan36.92maredefined,forminganeconomicandfeasiblepermanentpluggingprocessforabandonedwells.Theresearchresultscanprovideanimpor...
