J.Geogr.Sci.2023,33(4):801-822DOI:https://doi.org/10.1007/s11442-023-2107-9©2023SciencePressSpringer-VerlagCoordinateddevelopmentefficiencybetweencultivatedlandspatialmorphologyandagriculturaleconomyinunderdevelopedareasinChina:EvidencefromwesternHubeiprovinceXIANGJingwei1,HANPeng1,*CHENWanxu21.SchoolofPublicAdministration,ChinaUniversityofGeosciences,Wuhan430074,China;2.SchoolofGeographyandInformationEngineering,ChinaUniversityofGeosciences,Wuhan430074,ChinaAbstract:Suitablespatialmorphologyofcultivatedlandisabasicrequirementforsustainingagriculturaleconomicdevelopmentinmountainousareas.Coordinateddevelopmenteffi-ciencyofcultivatedlandspatialmorphologyandagriculturaleconomy(CECA)isofgreatpracticalsignificancetomeasuretheefficiencyofcultivatedlanduse,andtherebypromoteregionalruralrevitalization.However,fewstudiestodatehavefocusedoncoordinatedde-velopmentefficiencybetweencultivatedlanduseandagriculturaleconomyinmountainousareasfromtheperspectiveofcultivatedlandspatialmorphology.Thus,thepresentstudyexploresCECAwiththisfocususingthedataenvelopmentanalysismethod,andanalyzesthekeyinfluencingfactorsviaageographicaldetectormodelin16countiesinwesternHubeiprovince.Theresultsshowthefollowing:(1)CECAexhibitssignificantspatialheterogeneitythatishighinthesouthofthestudyareaandlowinthenorth;(2)scaleefficiencyisthepri-marylimitingfactorforCECA;(3)theinsufficientoutputofcultivatedlandusemainlyrestrictsCECAinthesouthofthestudyarea,whileindividualcountyinthenorthsufferedfrominputredundancyandinsufficientoutput;and(4)populationdensityinthesouthernregionhasthemostsignificanteffectonCECA,andgrossdomesticproducthasthegreatestimpactinthenorthernregion.Theresultscontributetothederivationofspecificmeasuresbywhichtopromotecultivatedlanduseefficiencyandsustainabledevelopmentofthesocialeconomy.Keywords:cultivatedlandspatialmorphology;agriculturaleconomy;dataenvelopmentanalysis;geographicaldetectormodel;coordinateddevelopmentefficiency;westernHubei1IntroductionChinahasembarkedonanewjourneyt...
