Designation:F214613Standard Specification forWrought Titanium-3Aluminum-2.5Vanadium Alloy SeamlessTubing for Surgical Implant Applications(UNS R56320)1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F2146;the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope*1.1 This specification covers the chemical, mechanical, andmetallurgical requirements for wrought and annealed or cold-worked and stress-relieved titanium-3aluminum-2.5vanadiumalloy(UNS R56320)seamless tubing to be used in themanufacture of surgical implants.See Section 4 for sizelimitations.1.2 The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated ineach system may not be exact equivalents;therefore, eachsystem shall be used independently of the other.Combiningvalues from the two systems may result in non-conformancewith the standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any, associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory requirements prior to use.2.Referenced Documents2.1 ASTM Standards:2E8/E8M Test Methods for Tension Testing of Metallic Ma-terialsE29 Practice for Using Significant Digits
