immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision,the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the U.S.Department of Defense.1.Scope1.1 This specification covers needle roller bearings havingthick outer rings,with rollers and cages.1.2 The bearings being specified are intended to be usedwith hardened shafts(HRC58-65;see Test Methods E18).Foruse with unhardened shafts,bearings should be used inconjunction with inner bearing ring MS51962 as specified inSpecification F2431 and shown as MS500072 bearing assem-blies in Specification F2430.1.3 The use of recycled materials that meet the requirementsof the applicable material specification without jeopardizingthe intended use of the item is encouraged.1.4 Bearings designed to this specification are intended foruse in applications requiring high radial load with minimalangular shaft misalignment.1.5 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard.The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.NOTE1This specification contains many of the requirements ofMS51961
