epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This practice covers the design,manufacture,and op-eration of inflatable amusement devices and their associatedoperating environments.1.2 This practice specifically excludes inflatable devicesthat are used for professional exhibition or stunt work;safetyand rescue activities;aerial or aviation structures or devices;exhibit floats;or similar inflatable devices.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any,associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 inflatable amusement device,nan amusement ride ordevice designed for use that may include but not be limited tobounce,climb,slide,or interactive play.They are made offlexible fabric,kept inflated by continuous air flow by one ormore blowers,and rely upon air pressure to maintain theirshape.3.1.2 operator/attendant,nthe person who has been prop-erly trained and designated by the owner to direct the operationof the inflatable device.3.1.3 owner/operator,nthe person or organization havingoverall control and responsibility for the maintenance,setup,and operation of the inflatable device.3.1.4 user,na participant in the use of the inflatable deviceas defined by the manufacturer.4.Significance and Use4.1 The purpose of this practice is to delineate informationregarding the design,manufacture,installation,operation,andmaintenance of inflatable amusement devices.5.Inflatable Amusement Device Design and Manufacture5.1 Inflatable amusement device manufacturers shall iden-tify the specified use of each inflatable device to the ownerprior to or at the time of sale.5.2 Inflatable amusement device manufacturers shall pro-vide specifications,setup,maintenance,and repair instructionsto the original purchaser in accordance with Practice F1193and shall include,but may not be limited to,the followingtopics:5.2.1 Signage,setup,takedown,and storage specificationsand procedures.5.2.2 Inflation pressure(s).5.2.3 Specifications for number of blowers and requiredrated capacity.5.2.4 Requirements for environmental conditions thatinclude,but are not limited to,location,surface material,andweather conditions.5.2.5 Maximum capacity by weight or number of users.5.2.6 Service and adjustment procedures for all componentsof the inflatable device.5.2.7 Contact information to be used by the owner,operator,or attendant to secure maintenance or operating assistance fromthe manufacturer.5.2.8 Daily,weekly,monthly or other periodic minimumservice and component checklists.5.2.9 User height,weight,age,and other physical require-ments or restrictions.5.2.10 The inappropriate attire worn by users.1This practice is Inflatable devices shall be designed and manufactured inaccordance with Practices F1159 and F1193,and shall include,but may not be limited to:5.3.1 There shall be no sharp exterior or interior angles oredges,parts,or ancillary equipment accessible to users whichwill cause injury if contact is made with them.5.3.2 There shall be no entrapment points.5.3.3 The outside walls shall be designed to contain userswhen operated in accordance with manufacturers specifieduse.5.3.4 The design shall be
