Design on Structural Integrity was held 5 May,1997 in St.Louis,MO.The symposium was sponsored by ASTM Committee E8 on Fatigue and Fracture.Richard C.Rice, with Battelle Columbus Laboratories in Co-lumbus,OH,and Douglas E.Tritsch, with the University of Dayton Research Institute in Dayton,OH,served as cochairmen of the symposium and are editors of this publication. This symposium was originally planned as two independent symposia, titled The Design Criteria to Assure Structural Integrity and The Effects of Product Quality on Structural Durability. The ultimate decision to merge these two symposia was based on their shared emphasis on enhancing the service life of structures. Therefore, the two symposia were consolidated into a one-day symposium with the above name.Copyright by ASTM
