epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This practice establishes the minimum requirements forthe development of a Quality Assurance and ProductionAcceptance Program,to be used for the manufacture of LightAirplane Unmanned Aircraft Systems(UAS).1.2 Other documents relevant to this practice include Prac-tice F2279,14 CFR Part 21,14 CFR Part 23,and 14 CFR Part43.1.3 This standard does not purport to address the qualityassurance of the data-links,autopilot functions,and controlstations.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any,associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of airplane,nengine-driven fixed-wing aircraft heavierthan air,that is supported in flight by the dynamic reaction ofthe air against its wings.3.1.2 light airplane UAS,nlight airplane unmanned air-craft system;maximum gross weight 1320 lb.3.1.3 manufacturer,nany entity engaged in the productionof an unmanned aircraft system.3.1.4 permanent record,nrecords shall be kept for eachlight airplane UAS produced.3.1.5 pilot operating handbook(POH),ndeveloped by theairplane manufacturer and contains FAA-approved airplaneflight manual information.3.1.6 quality assurance manual(QAM),ndocumentationof the quality assurance program.3.1.7 quality assurance program(QAP),nmethod of in-spections used by the manufacturer to verify and ensure theproper production thereof.3.1.8 quality assurance record(QAR),nrecord of qualityassurance associated with each light airplane UAS produced.3.2 Acronyms:3.2.1 AOI,naircraft operating instructions3.2.2 MRB,nmaterials review board3.2.3 UAS,nunmanned aircraft system4.Significance and Use4.1 The purpose of this practice is to provide the minimumrequirements necessary for the establishment of a qualityassurance and production acceptance program for a manufac-turer of light airplane UAS.5.Quality Assurance Program(QAP)5.1 Manufacturers of light airplane UAS shall develop aQuality Assurance Program(QAP)in accordance with thecriteria established within this practice.5.2 Quality Assurance Manual(QAM)Each manufacturershall document their QAP in the form of a Quality AssuranceManual(QAM).5.3 Quality Assurance AdministrationThe identified within the QAM.5.4 Quality Assurance Record(QAR)A record shall bemaintained of the date of acceptance,the origin of materialsused in the production of airframe components considered bythe manufacturer to be critical to the structural integrity of alight airplane UAS(see Note 1).NOTE1The intent of this record is to provide a means for themanufacturer to identify and reduce the number of light airplane UASwithin a fleet that may be affected by a materials anomaly that wouldrequire corrective action,thereby reducing the economic impact of suchcorrective action.This paragraph should not be construed as a requirementfor specific parts traceability.5.4.1Manufacturer shall maintain a Quality AssuranceRecord(QAR)for each light airplane UAS produced.EachQAR shall consist of the following:5.4.1.1 Applicable final inspection records,check,and testdocumentation from the produc
