Designation:F199914Standard Practice forInstallation of Rigid Poly(Vinyl Chloride)(PVC)FenceSystems1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F1999;the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision,the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This practice covers the minimum requirement for andmethods of installation for rigid poly(vinyl chloride)(PVC)fencing systems and fence accessories in areas where themaximum frost penetration does not exceed 30 in.76 cm.Inall cases,refer also to the specific manufacturers instructionsfor installation.1.2 This practice is intended to guide those responsible foror concerned with installation of rigid(PVC)fence systems.1.3 This practice does not preclude any test method that isproven to give equal or better performance under any weather,soil,or frost conditions.1.4 End-use and applicable code requirements shall beconsidered in the choice of fence style,spacing,height,andinstallation method.1.4.1 Paddock fencing for livestock may need to be moredurable than perimeter fence.1.4.2 Residential fence styles may not be designed forbalcony or guardrail use.1.5 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard.The values given in brackets are for informationonly.1.6 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any,associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user
