Designation:F271909(Reapproved 2015)Standard Practice forInstallation of Polyethylene(PE)and Encapsulated CementMortar Formed in Place Lining System(FIPLS)for theRehabilitation of Water Pipelines1This standard is issued under the fixed designation F2719;the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This practice covers requirements and test methods forinstallation of a semi-structural polyethylene(PE)and encap-sulated cement mortar formed-in-place lining system(FIPLS)intended for the rehabilitation of water pipelines from 4 in.to12 in.This renewal process involves installing a folded PEliner with multiple hooks on the outside face into an existingwater pipeline then pumping cement mortar into the annularspace and progressively reforming the liner against the originalpipe wall by means of forcing a reforming device through thepipeline.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any, associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applicabil-ity of regulatory limitations prior to use.Particular attention isdrawn to those safety regulations and requirements involvingentering into and working in confined spaces.1.4 This practice is to be used with the material specified in4.2.1 of F2718 the Standard Specification for Polyethylene(PE)and Cement Materials for an Encapsulated CementMortar Formed in Place Lining System(FIPLS)for theRehabilitation of Water Pipelines.2.Referenced Documents2.1 ASTM Standards:2C109/C109M Test Method for Compressive Strength ofHydraulic Cement Mortars(Using 2-in.or 50-mm CubeSpecimens)D1600 Terminology forAbbreviated Terms
