mobilizing and dispatchingresources,for exchanging information,for remote monitoringof vital indicators,and for transmission of treatment proce-dures and directions(from F 1220).3.1.2 management,nrefers to the step(s)that constituteaction taken by the emergency medical technician(basic)for apatient in need of assistance because of a real or perceivedtraumatic or medical condition.3.1.3 stress,nnonspecific response of the body to anydemand made upon it.3.1.4 triage,nthe process of sorting and making prioritiesfor emergency medical care of the sick and injured on the basisof urgency and type of condition present,number of patientsand resources available to route them properly to medicalfacilities appropriately situated and equipped for their care.4.Significance and Use4.1 This guide establishes the minimum national standardfor training the emergency medical technician(basic)as itrelates to his/her roles and responsibilities.1This guide is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee F30 on EmergencyMedical Services and is the direct responsibility of Subcommittee F30.02 onPersonnel,Training and Education.Current edition approved
