Abstract Modern English teaching has become an unavoidable part in the teaching development. However, classroom management is the key to ensure the quality of classroom teaching, and also an important factor that affects student development. Junior middle school students are in puberty, a special period. They have strong curiosity and they are also easy to have negative mentality and confrontation emotion. Classroom management in junior middle school is more complex because of the characteristic of students. The study begins with the background and significance of the research on the effectiveness of English classroom management in junior middle school, then, the author carries on the analysis to the research of domestic and foreign scholar about classroom management. The research participants in this thesis are English teachers and students from two ordinary junior middle schools in Baoji. After questionnaires, the author analyses questionnaire data, investigates the present situation of English classroom management in junior middle schools, and discusses, reflects the problems and causes of English classroom management in junior middle school. Finally, the author puts forward corresponding suggestions aimed at the problems of English classroom management in junior middle school. Key Words: English in junior middle school; classroom management; effectiveness 摘 要 现代英语教学已经成为教学发展层面上不可避免的一部分。而课堂管理是确保教学质量的关键,也是影响学生发展的一个重要因素。初中学生正处于青春期这一特殊时期,他们好奇心强,也很容易产生逆反心理和对抗情绪。因为学生的特殊,初中课堂管理更呈现出复杂性。本论文从初中英语课堂管理有效性研究的背景和意义出发,对国内外学者课堂管理相关研究进行分析,并以宝鸡市两所普通初中的英语教师和学生作为研究对象,对他们进行问卷调查,接着对调查问卷进行分析,探讨初中英语课堂管理的现状,对初中英语课堂管理中存在的问题及原因进行讨论与反思。最后,针对初中英语课堂管理存在的问题,提出相应的建议及对策。 关键词: 初中英语;课堂管理;有效性 Content TOC \o "1-3" \h \z \u HYPERLINK \l "_Toc480385776"1. Introduction Nowadays, English is an important subject for students in junior middle school, so more and more students pay attention to English learning. With the reform of new curriculum standards, English classroom management is facing a very big challenge in junior middle schools. English classroom management plays a quite important role in English teaching, thus, English teachers should concentrate and be focused on it. In the information age, everything seems to be ever-changing, effective classroom management is that a good teacher must master. In this chapter, the author will introduce the research background, and significance of the research. 1.1 Research Background English classroom management in junior middle school is the performance of teachers’ comprehensive quality. Teachers’ classroom management determines the quality and efficiency of classroom teaching. Effective classroom management can promote students to learn knowledge, improve the ability and the all-around development of their personality.
