Designation:B399/B399M04(Reapproved 2015)Standard Specification forConcentric-Lay-Stranded Aluminum-Alloy 6201-T81Conductors1This standard is issued under the fixed designation B399/B399M;the number immediately following the designation indicates the yearof original adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This specification covers concentric-lay-strandedconductors,made from round aluminum-alloy 6201-T81(hard:solution heat-treated,cold worked, and then artificially aged)wires, for use for electrical purposes. These conductors shall beconstructed with a central core surrounded by one or morelayers of helically laid wires(Explanatory Notes 1 and 2).NOTE1The aluminum alloy and temper designations conform toANSI H35.1/H35.1M.Aluminum-alloy 6201 corresponds to UnifiedNumbering System alloy A96201 in accordance with Practice E527.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units or SI units are tobe regarded separately as standard. The values in each systemare not exact equivalents;therefore, each system shall be usedindependently of the other.Combining values from the twosystems may result in nonconformance with the specification.1.2.1 For density, resistivity and temperature, the valuesstated in SI units are to be regarded as standard.2.Referenced Documents2.1 The following documents of the issue in effect on dateof material purchase form a part of this specification to theextent referenced herein:2.2 ASTM Standards:2B193 Test Method for Resistivity of Electrical ConductorMaterialsB263 Test Method for Determination of Cross-SectionalArea of Stranded
