epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This specification covers UNS N08925,UNS N08354,and UNS N089262seamless,cold-worked or hot-finished pipeand tube intended for general corrosive service.1.2 ASTM International has adopted definitions wherebysome grades,such as UNS N08904 previously in thisspecification,were recognized as stainless steels,because thosegrades have iron as the largest element by mass percent.Suchgrades are under the oversight of ASTM Committee A01 andits subcommittees.The products of N08904 previously coveredin this specification are now covered by Specifications A269and A312/A312M.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard.The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any,associated with its use.It is of the maximum andminimum outside diameters as determined at any one crosssection of the tube or pipe.3.2 pipe,nseamless tube conforming to the particulardimensions commercially known as standard pipe sizes.3.3 tube,na hollow product of round or any other crosssection having a continuous periphery.4.General Requirements4.1 Material furnished under this specification shall con-form to the requirements of Specification B829 unless other-wise provided herein.In the case of conflict,the requirementsof this specification shall take precedence.5.Ordering Information5.1 It is the responsibility of the purchaser to specify allrequirements that are necessary for material ordered under thisspecification.Examples of such requirements include,but arenot limited to,the following:5.1.1 Alloy name or UNS number.5.1.2 ASTM designation and year of issue.5.1.3 Finish.5.1.4 Dimensions:5.1.4.1 TubeOutside diameter and the average or mini-mum wall thickness.5.1.4.2 PipeStandard pipe size and schedule.5.1.4.3 Length,(cut to length or random).5.1.5 Quantity(feet or number of pieces).5.1.6 Nondestructive Testing(see 8.2):5.1.6.1 Pressure RequirementsTest pressure if other thanrequired by 8.2.1.5.1.6.2 Specify if an electric test is to be performed.5.1.7 EndsPlain ends cut and deburred will be furnished.If threaded ends or ends beveled for welding are
