Designation:B51405(Reapproved 2014)Standard Specification forWelded Nickel-Iron-Chromium Alloy Pipe1This standard is issued under the fixed designation B514;the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This specification2covers nickel-iron-chromium alloysin the form of welded,cold-worked,and annealed pipe forgeneral corrosive service and heat-resisting applications.Theseproducts are furnished in three alloys:UNS N08120,UNSN08800,and UNS N08810.3Alloy UNS N08800 is employednormally in service temperatures up to and including 1100F(593C).Alloys UNS N08120 and UNS N08810 are employednormally in service temperatures above 1100F where resis-tance to creep and rupture is required, and are annealed todevelop controlled grain size for optimum properties in thistemperature range.1.2 This specification covers outside diameter and nominalwall pipe shown in ANSI B36.19.Pipe having other dimen-sions may be furnished provided such pipe complies with allother requirements of the specification.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any, associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to become familiarwith all hazards including those identified in the appropriateMaterial Safety Data Sheet(MSDS)for this product/materialas provided by the manufacturer,to establish appropriatesafety and health practices, and determine the applicability ofregulatory limitations prior to use.2.Referenced Documents2.1 ASTM Standards:4B775 Specification purchaser wishes towitness tests or inspection of material at the place ofmanufacture, the purchase order must so state indicating whichtests or inspections are to be witnessed.6.Materials and Manufacture6.1 Pipe shall be made from flat-rolled alloy by an auto-matic welding process with no addition of filler metal.Subse-quent to welding and prior to final solution treatment, thematerial shall be cold worked either in both weld and basemetal or in weld metal only.6.2 Pipe shall be furnished with a scale-free finish.Whenbright annealing is used, descaling is not necessary.7.Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to the requirements as tochemical composition prescribed in Table 2.7.2 If a product(check)analysis is performed by thepurchaser, the material shall conform to the product(check)analysis variations in Table 1 of Specification B775.8.Mechan
