Designation:A952/A952M02(Reapproved 2016)Standard Specification forForged Grade 80 and Grade 100 Steel Lifting Componentsand Welded Attachment Links1This standard is issued under the fixed designation A952/A952M;the number immediately following the designation indicates the yearof original adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This specification covers the requirements for forgedalloy steel lifting components and welded coupling and masterlinks for Grade 80 and Grade 100 alloy chain slings asdescribed in Specification A906/A906M.1.2 Two grades of components and welded links are cov-ered:1.2.1 Grade 80.1.2.2 Grade 100.1.3 This specification is a performance standard.Otherstandards apply to use of these products. Some of thesestandards are:OSHA 1910.184,ASME B30.9,and ASMEB30.10.1.4 The values stated in either inch-pound or SI units are tobe regarded separately as standard.Within the text, the SI unitsare shown in brackets. The values stated in each system are notexact equivalents;therefore, each system shall be used inde-pendently of the other.Combining values from the two systemsmay result in nonconformance with the specification.2.Referenced Documents2.1 ASTM
