Designation:A 808/A 808M 00aStandard Specification forHigh-Strength,Low-Alloy Carbon,Manganese,Columbium,Vanadium Steel of Structural Quality with Improved NotchToughness1This standard is issued under the fixed designationA808/A808M;the number immediately following the designation indicates the yearof original adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.A superscript epsilon(e)indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This specification covers hot-rolled,high-strength low-alloy steel plate with improved notch toughness in the as-rolledcondition.1.2 The maximum thickness available is 212in.65 mm.1.3 When the steel is to be welded,it is presupposed that awelding procedure suitable for the grade of steel and intendeduse or service will be utilized.See Appendix X3 of Specifica-tion A 6/A 6M for information on weldability.1.4 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI unitsare to be regarded as standard.Within the text, the SI units areshown in brackets. The values stated in each system are notexact equivalents. Therefore, each system must be used inde-pendently of the other.Combining values from the two systemsmay result in nonconformance with this specification.2.Referenced Documents2.1 ASTM Standards:A 6/A6M Specification for General
