Designation:C65607(Reapproved 2013)Standard Specification forStructural Insulating Board,Calcium Silicate1This standard is issued under the fixed designation C656;the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This specification covers structural insulating board forgeneral thermal insulating,fire-resistive,and marine bulkheadapplications. The rigid, preformed structural insulating board isfor use at temperatures up to 1700F(927C).For specificapplications, the actual temperature limit shall be agreed uponbetween the manufacturer and the purchaser.1.2 The structural insulating board maintains its structuralintegrity after immersion in water.1.3 Rapid cycling over a wide temperature range is notrecommended because of potential damage due to thermalshock.1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversions to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any, associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.1.6 When the installation or use of thermal insulationmaterials, accessories and systems, may pose safety or healthproblems, the manufacturer shall provide the user appropriatecurrent information regarding any known problems associatedwith the recommended use of the companys products, andshall also recommend protective measures to be employed intheir safe utilization. The user shall establish appropriate safetyand health practices and determine the applicability of regula-tory requirements prior to use.2.Referenced Documents2.1 ASTM Standards:2C165 Test Method for Measuring Compressive Properties ofThermal InsulationsC168 Terminology Relating to Thermal
