GFI 7A Unit 6 Do You Like Bananas (Period 1) Teaching Aims u of Language: Students will be better able to grasp the following words: like, banana, hamburger, tomato, broccoli, French fries, orange, ice cream, salad, strawberry, pear, apple, carrot, have, etc. Students will be able to distinguish the countable and uncountable words. Students will be able to use simple present tense to express their likes and dislikes. Students will be able to understand the above items in spoken or written forms. u of Culture Students will be able to understand the western culture in terms of food. Teaching Steps 1. Lead-in Guessing games Students will guess different words of food which they have already known by looking at the pictures or letters. 2. Presentation Ask Ss what other food they can find in the supermarket and teach other new words banana, hamburger, tomato, French fries, orange, pear, salad, ice- cream, broccoli. 3. Learn & understand the words in different activities. u Rearrange the words Students try to spell the words by looking at the letter mess. u Guessing the food Students guess the food covered by the teacher by asking as few questions as possible. u Listen Listen 2a 4. Presentation Show the sentences structures in 2a (Do you like… Yes, I do. No, I don’t.) u Information Gap Students ask each other about their favorite food. (the answerers will have to give the given answers) 5. Grammar Focus Students try to distinguish the countable and uncountable words with the help of the teacher. 6. Report of my breakfast Students try to give each other a report about their breakfast 7. homework Write down what food your parents like and don’t like.
