W: Well, two hundred should be enough. You will want to invite some people too, I suppose, so three hundred, tops.
M: Where are we going to have this celebration, my dear

M: Mrs. Boddington, take a seat, please.
W: Thank you, Mr. Wilshire. Nice to see all of you again.
M: Mrs. Boddington, do you know why you are here
W: Well, I suppose you want to talk to me about my, uh, unusual teaching methods, right
M: Um, in a way, yes, Mrs...
W: I knew this would happen! I’m sorry, but the way we learned math when we were in school just doesn’t cut it with the kids of today. They need more hands-on learning, more special projects, and more in-your-face instruction.
M: We know. And that’s what we wanted to talk to you about.
W: I’ll be happy to bring this up with the principal if necessary.
M: Well, you can talk with him when he gets here in a minute. But I wanted to be the first to congratulate you on your promotion to Head of the Math Department.
W: Oh... Well, in that case... thank you very much!

W: A Coke, please. I’m sorry... I don’t know your name...

M: Hey, I just finished reading a great book. It’s about Steve Jobs!
W: Really But there are so many books about him now. What makes the one you read so special
M: Well, the one I read is by Walter Isaacson — it’s different from the others because Steve Jobs himself asked Isaacson to write it.
W: Hmm, were they friends or something
M: Well, they knew each other well because Isaacson used to work for Time Magazine in the 1980s and he wrote about Apple products — but it was mostly a business relationship, I think.
W: So, what’s the book about
M: Oh, his entire life. There’s a lot of personal information about Steve Jobs because so many people, including his wife, kids, and closest co-workers, agreed to be interviewed only for this particular book.
W: It sounds interesting. Did you learn anything that really surprised you
M: I always knew he was a tough person, but I was amazed at how sensitive he was. He actually cries a lot in the book!
W: Really Wow, I should definitely take a look!
