all coatings cured by ultravioletenergy.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard.No other units of measurement are included in thisstandard.1.3 This standard does not purport to Standard:3.1.1 cure,nthe condition of a coating after conversion tothe final state of cure as measured by tests generally related toend-use performance and mutually agreeable to supplier andpurchaser.3.1.2 ultraviolet curing,nconversion of a coating from itsapplication state to its final use state by means of a mechanisminitiated by ultraviolet radiation generated by equipment de-signed for that purpose.4.Significance and Use4.1 This practice provides a guide whereby all pertinentvariables relating to the ultraviolet cure of a coating aredescribed.5.Procedure5.1 Apply the coating to be cured to the desired substrate ata film thickness typical to that normally used.After approxi-mately the time delay encountered in production pass thecoated substrate through the curing equipment and subse-quently test for cure,as defined in 3.1.1,using the appropriatemethods listed in 5.1.1 through 5.1.11.The most commonlyused test methods are listed in 5.1.1 through 5.1.4.5.1.1
