2007)Standard Test Method forAppearance and Integrity of Highloft Batting AfterRefurbishing1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D 4770/D 4770M;the number immediately following the designation indicates theyear of original adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of lastreapproval.A superscript epsilon()indicates an washing or drycleaning when tested in a finishedproduct or a panel assembly simulating the construction of thefinished product.1.2 This test method is not intended for use on wool/woolblend and cotton/cotton blend batting and needle-punchedstructures.1.3 This test method provides the values in both SI units andinch-pound units.“Inch-pound units”is the technically correctname for the customary units used in the United States.“SIunits”is the technically correct name for the system of metricunits known as the International System of Units. The valuesstated in either system of units cured.3.1.8 thermal bonded batting,na textile filling materialthat contains low-melting point fibers or polymers that, whenheated, fuse the batting materials together.3.1.8.1 DiscussionThermal bonded batting may also beresin bonded.3.1.9 unbonded batting,na textile filling material that isneither needle-punched,resin bonded,or thermal bonded(seealso needle-punched batting, resin bonded
