Designation:D570611Standard Test Method forDetermining Extreme Pressure Properties of LubricatingGreases Using a High-Frequency,Linear-Oscillation(SRV)Test Machine1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D5706;the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope*1.1 This test method covers a procedure for determiningextreme pressure properties of lubricating greases under high-frequency linear-oscillation motion using the SRV test ma-chine.This test method can also be used for evaluating extremepressure properties of lubricating fluid.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard. No other units of measurement are included in thisstandard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any, associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use.2.Referenced Documents2.1 ASTM Standards:2A295/A295M Specification for High-Carbon Anti-FrictionBearing SteelD217 Test Methods for Cone Penetration of LubricatingGreaseD4175
