for the samplingand analysis of airborne particulate matter for hexavalentchromium in ambient air samples.1.2 This method is applicable to the determination ofmasses of 0.40 to 20.0 ng of hexavalent chromium per samplewithout dilution.Detection limits vary by instrumentation.Some laboratories may be able to achieve lower detectionlimits.The lower limit of applicability for this method wasdetermined in a 2019 multi-laboratory detection limit study(1).21.3 This method is applicable to hexavalent chromiummeasurement in the atmosphere from 0.019 to 0.926 ng/m3assuming a 21.6 m3sample volume.The lower range may bedecreased with longer sampling times.The upper range can beincreased using appropriate dilutions.1.4 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded asstandard.No other units of measurement are included in thisstandard.1.5 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns,if any,associated with its use.It is theresponsibility of the user of this
