Designation:D842421Standard Guide forRetroreflective Composite Optics Laboratory Procedures1This standard is issued under the fixed designation D8424;the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision, the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This guide presents a series of options for evaluatinglot-to-lot consistency of retroreflective composite optics of thesame type and form from the same manufacturer and does notrecommend any specific course of action to be taken.Thisguide is meant to increase the awareness of information andapproaches and is not meant to recommend any specific courseof action per ASTMs Form and Style for ASTM Standardsdefinition for a Guide.1.1.1 This guide does not determine lab procedure selectionor acceptance criteria for a specific retroreflective compositeoptics product for its intended use.It is the responsibility of themanufacturer and customer to negotiate these details based ontheir specific needs.1.1.2 This guide is not intended to predict in-service perfor-mance levels.1.1.3 This guide is not intended for comparison of differenttypes of composite optics or manufacturers of compositeoptics.1.2 UnitsThe values stated in SI units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses after SI units areprovided for information only and are not considered standard.1.3 This standard does not purport to address
