following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or,in the case of revision,the year of last revision.A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval.Asuperscript epsilon()indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1.Scope1.1 This guide covers the awareness and use of availablestandard methods for characterizing solid and liquid particles,and provides information for subsequent evaluation and stan-dardization.1.2 The principal purpose of this guide is the identificationof particle characterization standard methods that have beendeveloped and published by various standards organizationsworldwide.Although this is an extensive list of methods,it isnot all inclusive.WD working drafts,CD committee drafts,DIS draft
