Inthefirstquarterof2023,oureconomygrewatanimpressiveannualrateof5.6percent.Thisfollowsoureconomicgrowthof3.5percentin2023,thefastestrateofanymajorindustrializednation.Andbecausetaxesarelow,ourworkersarekeepingmoreofthemoneytheyearn. Behindeachofthesepositivestatisticsarecountlessstories--storiesofworkerswhostarteachdaywithhopebecausetheyhaveajobthatwillhelpthembuildabetterlife;storiesoffamilieswithmoremoneyinthebankforcollegetuition,oradownpaymentonahome;storiesofsmallbusinessownerswhoknowtheycanhiremoreworkersandgrowwithconfidence. OureconomicexpansionisliftingthelivesofmillionsofAmericans,andtokeepthisexpansiongoing,wemustmaintainthepro-growth,low-taxpoliciesthathelpedtolaunchitinthefirstplace.ThetaxreliefwedeliveredhashelpedunleashtheentrepreneurialspiritofAmericaandkeptoureconomytheenvyoftheworld.SoIwillcontinuetoworkwithCongresstomakethattaxreliefpermanent.
