Abstract Song Ci stands for the highest achievements of the Song Dynasty’s literature. The translation of Song Ci can promote the exchange of Chinese and foreign cultures and carry forward the Chinese culture. As a well-known translator, Xu Yuanchong proposed the “Three Beauty〞 theory has great guidance in poetry translation. This thesis analyzes Xu Yuanchong’s translation of Li Qingzhao’s Ci and points out that the translation not only reproduces the “Three Beauty〞 of the original text, but also the readers of the translation can feel the same beauty as the original reader. Based on the above discussion, this paper concludes that “Three Beauty〞 theory can guide the English translation of Li Qingzhao’s Ci, so that the readers of the translation have the same beautiful enjoyment with the original readers. Introduction Ci is a kind of unique poetry style and appeared after Tang poetry, it is also a kind of Chinese ancient poetry. Ci began in the Liang Dynasty, formed in the Tang Dynasty, Five Dynasties and Ten States began to flourish and then in the Song Dynasty reached its peak, so it is commonly known as Song Ci. Song Ci plays an important part in Chinese classical literature. And Li Qingzhao (1084-1155, she also named Li Yi’an) is the talented woman poet in the history of the Song Dynasty literature. What’s more, as the most famous female poet in Chinese history, Ci Poems that she handed down to subsequent generations are a treasure in the history of Chinese literature. And her Ci has delicate emotions, fresh language, elegant diction and abundant images, thus she becomes the representative personage of the gentle and restrained school. And her poetry because of the distinctive artistic style is called “Yi’an Ci〞. Yi’an Ci, whether in language, emotion or artistic conception, has a high aesthetic value. For decades, there are numerous homes and abroad translators have translated Li Qingzhao’s Ci. However, in numerous poetry translation theories, Xu Yuanchong’s “Three Beauty〞 theory is most influential.
