More and more people are migrating to cities in search of a better life, but city life can be extremely difficult. Explain some of the difficulties of living in a city. How can governments make urban life better for everyone?
Writing 1
Nowadays, quite a lot of people surging into the city are dreaming of the better life, especially the young. It is no doubt that the massive abstraction from city has got the tremendous influence on the option of people who likely to migrate. It is easier to obtain the work and other source in city than the country place and more convenient in the transportation, entertainment and others. Going to cinema or having dinner with family is seems like daily thing people can manage. On contrary, people living in the village may find it a big problem for them.
So, should living in city be regarded as the heaven without any annoying issue? Actually, it is not true. Each coin should have two sides, as the old saying goes. People have to complete strongly for obtaining the resource to support their city lives, for the living resource is rarely enough for the increased demanding. Secondly, people shall suffer from the noise from the vehicle, market and the crowded neighbor. Likewise, traffic incident and unexpected criminal case are also happened which is hardly seen in the village. In additional, large pressure from raising family and work lead people living in the city a lot disease both in the physical and the mental. Clean water and fresh air also can hardly access to get. In the end, people chasing for better life have to pay the high price as well.
Government should play an important role in the management of making urban life better for everyone. In my view, firstly, the government should give more specific living introduction and provide the more living and study resource on public, set up more useful training class to guide people to improve their ability to look for better job. Secondly, Government should offer more job opportunities for the demanding people. Meanwhile, clean water and air must be carried out well through the big project ensuring people can live in the healthy life. The last but not the least, government have to take care of all the disabled people to live in city for better life, which is also one part of the administration. Provide more living resource and help people to improve the working ability and share the public benefit to all people, ensure the clean food is the essential for the management of government.
Writing 2
Cities are often seen as places of opportunity, but there are also some major drawbacks of living in a large metropolis. In my opinion, governments could do much more to improve city life for the average inhabitant.
The main problem for anyone who hopes to migrate to a large city is that the cost of living is likely to be much higher than it is in a small town or village. Inhabitants of cities have to pay higher prices for housing, transport, and even food. Another issue is that urban areas tend to suffer from social problems such as high crime and poverty rates in comparison with rural areas. Furthermore, the air quality in cities is often poor, due to pollution from traffic, and the streets and public transport systems are usually overcrowded. As a result, city life can be unhealthy and stressful.
However, there are various steps that governments could take to tackle these problems. Firstly, they could invest money in the building of affordable or social housing to reduce the cost of living. Secondly, politicians have the power to ban vehicles from city centres and promote the use of cleaner public transport, which would help to reduce both air pollution and traffic congestion. In London, for example, the introduction of a congestion charge for drivers has helped to curb the traffic problem. A third option would be to develop provincial towns and rural areas, by moving industry and jobs to those regions, in order to reduce the pressure on major cities.
In conclusion, governments could certainly implement a range of measures to enhance the quality of life for all city residents.
