Iraqiscanbejustlyproudoftheirnewgovernmentanditsearlystepstoimprovetheirsecurity.AndAmericanscanbeenormouslyproudofthemenandwomenofourArmedForces,andtheintelligenceofficerswhosupportthem.Inthepastthreeyears,ourtroopshaveoverthrownacrueldictator,foughttheterroristsandinsurgentshousetohouse,andtrainedIraqiforcestodefendtheirnewdemocracy.Allthewhile,theystayedonthetrailofthisbrutalterrorist,perseveringthroughyearsofnearmissesandfalseleadsandnevergivinguphope.Thisweektheygottheirman.AndallAmericansaregratefulfortheirremarkableachievement. Zarqawiisdead,butthedifficultandnecessarymissioninIraqcontinues.Intheweeksahead,violenceinIraqmayescalate.TheterroristsandinsurgentswillseektoprovethattheycancarryonwithoutZarqawi.AndCoalitionandIraqiforcesareseizingthismomenttostriketheenemiesoffreedominIraqatthistimeofuncertaintyfortheircause.TheworkaheadwillrequiremoresacrificeandthecontinuedpatienceoftheAmericanpeople.
